I upgraded my E75 software to 201.12.01. And I am having lots of problems with it.
- Ovi files won't start in stead I get a very short Web UI notice.
- Ovi store won't install properly, I get a script error message
- Long pressing the home button doesn't work i.e. I don't get a list of active apps
- Some minor bugs around the Internet acces point
- I didn't get a NGage at all let alone a new version
- I didn't get a Facebook, or a YouTube (widget?)
The new web browser is great, and there are work arounds for most of the problems, but I really miss the long press Home button=list of active application.
I wonder
- Am I the only one that has these problems, or is this update generally buggy?
- And if the update isn't buggy what happened?
- Can I do something about it apart from visiting a care point?
Any one any clues?
Thanks

I have the same set of problems stated below in addition to whenever you try checking the NAVIGATION at the MAPS under settings, it just goes out

Hi there.
I have 2 problems with the 201.12.01 E75 update:
- The phone keeps restarting by itself several times per day.
- The battery life is shorter (I charged battery every 5-6 days before update; now I charge it EVERYDAY)

Hi
I had been having awful problems with E75.
1. Sometimes when receiving a call it it does not answer with the GREEN key, instead it hangs.
2. Sometimes the display partialy changes to slide mode by itself and then return back to normal but during this period the keypad does not responds.
I updated the firmware 201.12.01 hoping that my problems would be solved, instead it added a fresh problem:
Sometimes, when typing message (in either mode) the keypad response becomes dead slow !!!
I am extremely disappointed with this beautiful set ![]()

Same here - Maps does not work any more. Someone tell me why I buy business phones and PAY for navigation only to have an update screw up my phone?
In case someone wonders, I hoped to have the memory leak fixed, so there was a reason to update...

I forgot to mention another bug.
Sometimes, I when I get a call, the call is automatically answered without the ring bell and disconnected immediately. Hence, I cannot know if I have any missed call. And the callers later complain me of not attending their calls.

I updated my E75 with new firmware. It got even slower than earlier, but the "best" thing was that phone literally died. I have recharged, took battery away, took sim away, tried to update again with PC, but nothing.
My advice, if you have E75, do not update- unless you are ready to mess your phone for good.

I am sorry to hear everyone's horrible experiences with update. I had tried 5-6 times today to update my phone, but now reading of your missfortunes, I guess I will wait a few more weeks before trying to update.
I hope you all find a way to restore your phones back to some working order.

I updated two days ago and now i cannot make or receive phone calls.
I can SMS, but don't receive direct sms from others, only replies to sms I have sent.
I love the phone but this Firmware upgrade has screwed things up completely, is there any way to regress back to the old firmware??

Hi all,
We're working on a fix for these problems (problems with incoming/outcoming calls, Maps etc) and if everything goes as planned this fix should be available on next Monday via all channels (NSU / FOTA / Service centers).
Meanwhile the workaround is following:
1) Create a backup of the phone content with PC-suite
2) Reset the phone to factory settings by typing *#7370# in home screen. Phone will request the lock code which is 12345 by default
3) Restore the backup with pc-suite, but uncheck the "settings" during restore.
Sorry about the inconvenience!

Normally this problem is related to duplicate contact entries in the phonebook. Please check your contacts application to see if all names are now duplicated after the importing the contacts from outlook?
The reason for duplicate contacts is normally that new E-series devices don't erase user content during SW update, so no restoration of backup is normally needed after the update. So in normal cases the contacts etc. entries are in the phone after the update, so it's quite easy to accidentally import duplicate entries.
Of course it's highly recommended to create a backup before the update in case of something goes wrong, but this is only a precaution and the phone functionality should be ok on most cases after the update.

Hi Chandana,
I'm sorry that I can't comment on all issues due to our company guidelines (NDA etc.), but here's the things I can answer:
You should be able downgrade your phone SW in your nearest service center. Unfortunately this is not possible with NSU/FOTA.
My recommendation in any case would be that you'd keep your current SW, or update to latest SW release (200.12.01) as our SW releases normally contain loads of functionality improvements and also new features. If your phone is not operator branded, then please check if latest SW is available via FOTA / NSU.

Hi
I'm sorry in advance if I sound really **bleep** off, I'm trying to stay calm and relaxed about all this!
So my phone stopped working properly yesterday - no sound through handset - loudspeaker and earphones worked fine. I phoned nokia support and went thru some checking of settings, all fine. The lady told me I had to update the firmware. So I have spent the afternoon updating and uploading all the latest programs associated with doing this. Whilst in the middle of updating software I could hear the phone connected and disconnecting and the screen kept coming up saying that the connection was lost, unplug, take out battery, plug back in etc. To no avail - I reckon I did that atleast 7 times. right this minute I'm left with a blank black screen, and the computer won't recognise the phone when connected.
not happy jan.
beside having to take my phone to brisbane which is an hour away to the nearest repair centre, can anyone help me?
