I am one of the few US citizens who ponied up enormous amounts of money for a Nokia E71. When the keys on the keyboard began to fall off, I went into the Nokia store in New York City to get it repaired under warranty (it was only six months old), but they declared it a victim of "water damage" and denied my claim. No one in the store seemed to have a clue, let alone give me a proper estimate on how much it would cost to get the phone repaired by them. I glued the key back on and soldiered on.
Now, the plug is not working right (I have to pull back the cord to make a connection), and I need to pay for it to be repaired. However, my Google searches are not coming up with anyone who is qualified to repair a US-spec E71. I sent the phone to Doctor Cellphone, a small outfit in Dallas, Texas, who kept the phone for a six weeks, and is now shipping it back, complaining that they could not locate any parts.
Does anyone have any recommendations of a good repair shop that can fix my ailing Nokia? US parts need to be used (remember, US voltage is 110V, and our keyboards have a slightly different layout), and I would like to pay less than $100, plus shipping. I will ship it anywhere, so long as I know the phone will get turned around quickly, and the repair will be done properly.
Hopefully I can get the phone back soon so I can continue "water damaging" my Nokia for a few more years!
