Hi all.

I was generally a bit ticked-off with my E7, particularly because its USB port had gone extremely dodgy.  Thankfully this was sorted by my service provider by simply swapping the handset.  The new one, however, has come with a completely different set of software loaded.  Most of which is fine, but the Location App, with GPS data has dissappeared, and it's one of the items I used a lot.

I've looked at other GPS apps, but they don't have the functionality of the "location" app, mainly the ability to set a destination (via longitude and lattitude) and have it direct you there.  This app has been on Nokia phones for years and years, and yet suddlenly this phone doesn't have it.  Most odd.

Is it available for download from anywhere?  I've looked for it on OVI for quite some time, but to no avail.

hey david, jst go to search option at ovi, and downloas maps application from there. I m also using this app at my E 7-00. U can ask me any quarry abt that any time.

No, not the maps application, but the GPS data application which gave you a GPS compass, and allowed you to set a Longitude/Lattitude destination and would guide you to that destination.. It also had trip distance calculation, speed and various others.

Whilst the OVI maps application can do a couple of these, it isn't as useful as the Location/GPS data app.

Must be missing something here in your post, as using Ovi Maps v3.06 just enter co-ordinates in "Search"

For anyone now wanting to use Symbian LeGPSData application set device date to 21/01/11 to install as Symbian certificate has now expired; remember to alter date back to correct one afterwards!

Don't install GPS Info QT. It causes other map apps to lose GPS connectivity. Good new is they come back after removing the bad app.

Hmmm, changing the date has worked for situations like the for me before, but not this time.  I changed it back 6 months at a time...back 5 years and no luck.  I still get cirtificate expired.

I even installed siswave (? not sure of the name).  It's a windows program that tells you the valid cirtificate dates of a sis file....but choosing a couple dates in that 1 year period still didn't help.

It seems this program is locked out of Belle.

Any other GPS app suggestions?

Evidentally, I didn't use it because the Ovi store search engine is so bad, that it doesn't come up when I search for "GPS" or "LeGPSData".  How terrible is that?
