Hi,
How can I force disable/disconnect the wifi/3g ? I set to widget of the home screen to offline mode. but everytime I manually disconnect the wifi, it automatically reconnects in the second.
I have my mail,(hotmail), facebook status, calendar, some webshortcuts, and the info like cnn, weaher, reuters.
And when I go to sleep, I dont want the connection to be active.

It's probably some feature needing it connected.
Is the email set to auto connect?
I bet you have something forcing the wlan to connect. On my E7 I have my emails accounts set to auto connect every 4th hour with accesspoint internet in use. My wifi accesspoints are stored in the phone under internet and is the priority 1, hence the email will try to connect to wifi when available. Could this be the case for you since you have the homescreen in offline mode?

I have whatsapp to give a try. but its not launched.
Also for my mail, it's my hotmail account I can only set the synch from the widget I think,
and it seems to get the mail the whole day, with frequency asap.
I will try to change those settings but there is no "manually check for email" option.
But if i put my widgets in offline mode, shouldn't the email widget stop connecting ?
Is there a MasterSwitch "turn off all connections" that it has priority above the application ?
Because if I get the wifi to stop connecting, I don't want the 3G to be connected too
my Phone provider will get very rich then ![]()

Disable all email boxes. That worked for me, they kept forcing the phone to be on 3g packet data connection or in wlan, even if there was no network traffic. I think its a bug.

seems that it is the mail widget wich is continually trying to get the inbox, even when widgets are in offline mode. I change the frequency check and the hours to check for mails. now when I click to disable wifi, it does not reconnect immediately. Hope that works ![]()
Whatsapp works with push function, so it shouldn't be the problem. but on my phone it does not load automatically at startup.

yeah in my case it was the email widget, which i had to remove (on a business phone..) because even after set it not to manually get the mail, it still does. Using wifi... not 3g.. duno why.
There are so many other "strange" features in that phone. Really worse than on my old n95.
Hardly waiting for an update.

I connect to my wi-fi successfully, but then it still uses 3G for whatsapp, emails & when I go on the internet.
I just upgrade form the E72 & when in range it automatically connected to the wi-fi and used it as preferred connection...why won't the E7 do the same?

Hi , follow the setting :
1- settings----->connectivity---->wlan------->switch wlan scan off
and
2- settings-------->connectivity---->settings-----
--------------------------------------------------
if it is not useful
settings-------->connectivity---->settings------->
