Hi,

I have bought new Nokia E52.

The latest manufacture but the software version is old.

The software version in my phone is 34.001 and the latest available is 52.001.

I tried to update the phone software using the Nokia Software updater and OVI suite.

But while updating it is showing error as

"USB Connection to Mobile is lost.. Follow the steps... Disconnect from USB and Trun On off. Conncet to USB again".....

Actually i have not even touch the phone... I am not sure why this error is coming..

Even you disconnect the phone, the phone is blank.. so i need to remove battery to start it again...

I have tried this procedure again and again but not working...

Please help..

Please check if the USB cable is connected properly. If it is, check whether there is any issue with your computer's USB port. If it is still the same, try using a different ( a friend's ? ) compatible USB cable.

Thanks for the help.

i did verify my PC USB.. there is no issue with it.

As other mobile (Nokia 6630) is connected properly and never show a conncetion lost.

i never saw a connection issue with the USB port from last 2-3 years of my PC. So it likely to the USB port issue.

Will try to verify from some other machine but it will take a few days to do that...

Any other solution you can suggest that will be great .. as i need to fix this as soon as i can...

as i will be taking the phone outside the country in next few days..

You can do a hard reset of the device, but note that *ALL DATA* on the device will be ERASED. To do a hard reset ( where the phone is almost rewritten ), press *#7370#. If it still doesn't seem to solve, turn off the phone and press *, 3, dial ( green ) and power key altogether till the phone turns on. Always backup before you perform these functions.

i did perform the soft reset on the phone i.e.  *#7780# and then tried to update the software of the phone but it did not worked out...

I will tried to do the Hard reset as you mention....

but just to add some pointer that can help me ...

For the New E52 i have OVI suite 3.0.0.284 version and Nokia Software updater 2.6.6 US version installed..

but prior to it i have Nokia 6630 software like Nokia PC suite 7.1.51.0 along with the Nokia connectivity cable driver installed...

I see all the version present in PC together...

Do you thing these might be cause of the above error?
