Nokia E series phone Synchronization with Exchange Server

Last year synch Nokia E71 with Exchange server, I got positive results ; everything was well.

Now I'm currently busy with E63 and its always complaining about System error or Exchange Error. I'm trying to figure out if the problem is with Exchange server setting or its with the Device. Everything is configured correctly in the device , User name, Password, Server address, domain and so on. If some one have encountered such a problem , Please advice me?

Hi,

I'd strongly suggest that you'll update the MfE client to the latest version available.Newest client should be available from Ovi Store.

Re: Nokia E series phone Synchronization with Exchange Server

I have done that and I'm sure that the MFE is the Updated one. The other problem that I have is E75 and N97, For my understanding these phone have build in MFE but that seems to be not working , I followed each an every step in that  in those guides but I came up short. I'm working with employees who loves Nokia as a Brand and when they see these kind of service not working , they become upset and disappointed. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Nokia E series phone Synchronization with Exchange Server

Hmmm... If same problems appear with all of these devices, then I'd first check the server settings and if something has been changed and if there's something in e.g. the server side logs which can point you to correct direction.

System error and Exchange error messages point strongly to the direction that there device can't make a connection to the server. There's huge amount of possibilities which can cause this kind of problems, but the first things I would check would be that OMA is enabled for Symbian devices (and Outlook Web Access works with the device browser) and that e.g. your firewall is not blocking the connection attempts from the device to server or that there's some kind of problem in the AD etc.

Unfortunately I'm not any kind of specialist in the server settings, but your server administrators should be able to help you. My suggestion is that after the connection problem appears you check the MfE admin logs from the device (max. three .txt files in device's c:\Mailforexchange folder which is accessible with e.g. file browser) to see more details of what kind of problem you're seeing. From the admin logs you can see the timestamps of the connection attempts and with these timestamps your server admins can easily e.g. compare these to the logs which are generated to your servers.
