Hello.  is there anyone who could please recommend me how

to get the Camera on the E-71 toNOT MAKE ANY NOISE, click

shutter sound or anything when it takes a picture?

in some countries it is illegal to take pictures without letting another party know that you are doing so. the only way you can try to disable the sound is by turning the warning tones off i believe in a profile. if that does not work. there is no way to disable it, as your model was meant for such a country where privacy issues prevent you from taking silent pictures.

There is allways a solution. Google it.

Go to the home screen and push and hold the J key .  This will activate Silent Profile.  Now the phone will not make any noise when taking a picture.  when you're done, go back to the home screen and push and hold the J key again to restore your previous profile.

I've seen claims that Japan and South Korea require cameras to make a sound, but don't know of any other countrie.  Anyone have any real info?

In Belgium there are no restrictions but i have the same issue. But you suggestion is great, thanks.

Personally, I don't give a d*mn why the lawmen made it so. I'm an amateur but avid photographer of trees, clouds, buildings, food, traffic, landscape, etc. I just do not want the whole crowd to know I'm taking a shot. It's my phone.

Google for CenRep101F8809.sis and follow the instructions. It works like charm on my E71 and no hacking required. The sacrifice is turning off warning tones, e.g. low batt and "Bluetooth turned on/off."
