Re: My e72 restarts constantly

Like was said earlier by our moderator, these boards are not the official feedback or communication channel. Even though some of us are working directly in the product programs (like me) do browse these forums and participate in the discussions, it's really easy to miss some threads just because of the high activity on these forums.

If you want to be sure that your feedback is seen, please use the official contact methods (call centers, "contact us" link on top of this page etc) as they ensure that the information is delivered to the correct organization / people.

And FYI: I've forwarded this feedback to E72 team.

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

@E72SUCKS

Funny to say I'm getting personal while talking about diapers and calling me "illogical" and "pathetic", no less. The best part is suggesting that the reason I'm "getting personal" is that I might be on Nokia's payroll?!? Haha, no matter what you say, you must really be **bleep** at them to even come up with something like that.

I've been looking for any "substance" to address, but you don't bring any to the thread. Don't get me wrong; I think it's good to report bugs, it's a good way to find work-arounds from other users, and the Nokia engineers may not be aware of all of them. Valid complaints are, well, valid. What really annoys me though is making a huge rant of it, in big bold print, bringing nothing new to the table and just shouting "shame on Nokia!" as loud as you can on a computer screen. It doesn't help the other users who are looking for a solution on these forums. So yes, I will keep making fun of you as long as that's what you're doing.

I did get you to stop using ridiculous fonts and bold print though. I meant what I suggested with my posts about your fonts - not that you are stupid, but that writing posts that way makes you look like you're ranting, and thus not worthy of argument. Have you ever read a serious letter or argument in bold italics, changing fonts every two sentences? It reminds me of the "YOU'VE WON!!!!" mailings, or spam about Viagra. At least in my eyes, but that may just be another one of my silly conclusions.

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

This is just one of many problems with teh "awesome" E72....and another one that Nokia just don't bother solving. (With me its Mail for exchnage, which is virtually non-existing on my ophone, or might as well be)

The E72 is the first Nokia I bought since previously trying numerous other manufacturers, and I must admit, the service here sucks.

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

I crossposted this elsewhere:

As a previously satisfied Nokia user for 12 years, end of last year I purchased two E52’s. Constant problems - reboots regardless of firmware levels, and finally two dead phones, wasting my time with Nokia Care (who were absolutely useless - you should try calling them), having wasted 200 hours trying to have the issues resolved through the retailer and consumer affairs and 5 months to get a full refund, I’m really wary about continuing with Nokia.

Did you know there is no way to actually raise a complaint with Nokia directly ?

You can only go through the retailer or Nokia care (or hopeful that you’ll get a Nokia employee trawling these forums).

I have read many complaints/faults around the E72 (which was my next choice for a handset –

I actually like the look and feel of the E52/E72 and S60 V3 FP2 – pity the handsets don’t work reliably.

The E72 has similar problems to the E52 – reboots, hangs, dead phones, etc. I really am loathed to buy another Nokia until their hardware, software and QA guys get their act together.

Really disappointed Nokia have been pushing half baked products. It’s no wonder no carrier in Australia is supplying the handset range available to the rest of the world – probably because they have high rates of returns!

I have often lived on the bleeding edge of technology during my waking hours and have been a participant in alpha/beta testing programs before - but I feel it is unacceptable to be supplying product that fails so dysmally to the public. People can put up with faults if they feel passionate about a device, but not when it becomes the bane of their existance.

I have also been a user of Blackberry, IPhone and HTC and Motorola and have deployed/supported all of these in corporate settings (including Nokia), so I have seen the best of breed of all vendors. Even the E71 had problems / UI issues, yet it has now become the new standard for a reliable phone (sad!)..... Does anyone remember using the Series 40 (6310i) or even the N70 handsets... Do you remember how reliable they used to be ??

What I can definitely say is that Nokia is no longer a technology leader, but rather a laggard.

I have been a strong supporter/advocate of Nokia over the years, but it has taken only 6 months to erode my confidence in them as a handset vendor. It is clear other vendors have caught up and surpassed Nokia's abilities.

I really want to be convinced otherwise - I really liked their phones!

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

My E71 has worked perfectly for 18 months, still does, and a friend loves her E72 which also works flawlessly. I shall therefore follow some similar logic here and recommend that absolutely everyone in existence buys one or the other!

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

My E72 spontaneously restarts occasionally, but it doesn't happen often enough for it to be bothersome.

I love my E72, but I am hoping for a v30 (or something) firmware that improves the stability and experience.  Hopefully the good folks at Nokia are tinkering away on this as we speak.

Oh and I love this thread, it's a classic!  :smileyhappy:

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

Continuing the theme of poorly QA'd Nokia designs

A friend of mine just deployed a bunch of E75's in a corporate context - the E75 being essentially the same HW/SW design as the recent E52/E55/E72 handsets. Straight out of the box, they have constant spontaneous reboots/restarts and handset crashes across the fleet (basic phones without apps installed).

The situation slightly improved after a firmware upgrade, but again, anyone waiting for a firmware upgrade to fix these types of serious bugs will be sorely disappointed. It really does appear to me as though the problem is much deeper than Nokia is prepared to publically accept.

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

My worklocation changed at 26th of April. Untill that time my E72 was working fine, but now it consatntly reboots when I am at the office.

It seems that as soon it tries to contact the Internet, it reboots. I assume some connection settings are wrong. I already thought that I deleted them all, but obviously there is still something that troubles the phone.

Is there some kind of tool to drill down in the setting to clear them all? Or is a hard-reset the only option?

Yes, I have my E72

PS: Don't blame me for my bad English, I am Dutch :smileywink:

Re: My e72 has a gap between its frame & right/left shortcut keys

There seems to be a manufacturing defect in my E72 handset. There is a big gap between the main frame & the left/right shortcut keys. Because of this gap there is a lot of dust entering the phone & is affecting the display. I never expected such a manufacturing blunder from Nokia. Not at least on a high end business phone like E72. If someone at Nokia is reading this then please provide a solution ASAP.

Have always been a big fan of Nokia but feeling very disappointed now. :smileysad:

Re: My e72 restarts constantly

A.M.Mobile telecom pvt. Ltd * is a service provider for nokia india limited , on 19th. July 2011 I went to them with a e 72 handset which was purchased sometime in august 2010, that is within one year so my warranty still stands

I was told after making me wait for about one hours that my cell phone is damaged so my warranty stands cancelled and I will have to pay rs 1500 for the repair and the cost my go up also , plus at the same time , my phone my be dead and they may not be able to give me my phone in the condition they had taken from me and they will not be responsible for the same . At present my cell is working condition except the snags like auto re-starts and hangs .That is a software problem but they have created such a point that my phone is damaged and no warranty , they cell is water damaged that I have droped it in the water or water may have spiled on it and what not , so in a veiled way they have threaten me that I wil have to pay rs 1500 and that too my cel may not be repaired and may not even give me the same back i am having about  7 nokia handsest in my family this is the second E 72 which i giving me trouble plus i have N8 , 5530  2700c and C3 al but now i am thinking i have done a wrong buy buying all nokia handsets , Nokia handsets are good and i have a fancy for it but the service part is just a nightmare ...
