I have E72. The message Icon that looks like an envelope keeps blinking on on the bottom of the screen. What does it mean or indicate.

Flashing envelope could be caused by
1. You may just have an unread SMS from your last phone that is still saved on your SIM card. To check, goto Messaging>Options>SIM messages.
2. Messaging memory is full. Try deleting messages, also checking in, Sent and drafts.
3. Even though all your messages may be marked as read, just going down through the list and opening them all again one by one have also been known to resolve this issue. This could take some time but is worth a try if you do not want to delete any messages.

cjlim, that was brilliant, the messages in the old mobile that somehow remained in the Sim were the culprits. This happened after changing the mobile piece to E72 Did exactly what you wrote and the messages are gone. Thanks a ton!

hey laitos
in addition to cjlim's advise, I took note of yours too and deleted all the messages from the Sim card and now there's no blinking envelope anymore. Thanks a lot guys or gees as the case may be.

I bought a nokia e72 mobile on 4th oct 2010.My mobile had a cracked earpiece got it repaired at nokia care centre the very next day(5th oct 2010).the problem was resolved.
