works
thank you
Nokia support is working (?) like real ignorant lamers
could at least say something like: "take it easy, we are working on it, just wait a little, sorry"
most probably another company saving on personal
shame
by the way, the most stupid and chaotic menu i ever seen
and definitly software written by people, who never
spoke to each other and the whole thing was just assembled in a hurry afterwards
so now we face the consequenses of this "integration"
it's not my fault that the company i work for bought nokias
for 14 years i had only Ericsson phones

to delete these files, do I have to use an external card reader. I tried locating the files in the memory card (while it was still in the phone) using the phone USB cable and connecting in "mass storage format". There were no IR related files in sys/bin!
btw, when I installed the new IR version (1.7), i had first uninstalled the 2 previous versons (1.0 and 1.6). still dunno what to do!!

it worked for me while using the usb cable in "mass storage" mode

Hi ... I just wanted to say thanks to you guys for sorting this issue out ... I managed to get it working by deleting the files as suggested. They REALLY have fallen down on this and it's a shame that it took one (or more) of us to figure out the solution
PS By the way, I am still waiting for that "promised" call back from Nokia !!

I removed the memory card from the E71 (press red button, choose 'Remove memory card'), put it on a memory card reader attached to my Windows machine, open Explorer and remove the files from \sys\bin.
That's all...

I found a simple way to solve this problem. I installed the internet radio update on the memory card and I got the same error message as everybody ("feature not supported"). So I read the memory card from a PC and found a bunch of files on the directory SYS/BIN that were obviously related to the update - all of them started with IRsomething and their dates/hours were the same of the update. So I deleted all the files and put the memory card back into the phone. Solved! The internet radio application ran OK again!!!

Hi
Just done this for E63. Connect the phone via USB. Take the option to connect as 'Mass Storage Device'. Wait for windows to put messsge up 'What do you want windows to do ?'
Take the 'Open folder to view files' Then the 'sys' folder, then 'bin'
Change view to 'details' Delete all files that were downloaded. Mine were all IR and todays date. The application worked fine then.
Hope this helps

Hmm - not that simple. I deleted the files from sys/bin and all was well but it stopped working again the next day.
There is no uninstall option. How can I remove/uninstall the app? I'd like to uninstall completely, then reinstall on the phone rather the memory card, which I think works OK? I'd prefer not to reformat the SD card if I can avoid it.

I finally managed to delete all the files from that failed upgrade and my old original radio software application now works fine again ; so what's the deal now with this Radio Software Upgrade - has this now been fixed by NOKIA for the E71 since this problem appeared 1 month ago (!!) or should we stick to the older radio software ? How about somebody from NOKIA commenting on this so that we can use this U$ 400 phone to its full potential and not worry about having a potentially defective handicapped phone that cannot be upgraded to the newest software.

Hi, folks.
Do you know if this issue is already solved? I've updated my E71's Internet Radio today (before reading this thread) and it's working fine. My firmware is 100.07.76.

Hi to all who have problems with internet radio feature on E63:
I had the same problem of not being able to access internet radio after downloading an update. I was about to delete IR files on memory card and had started with doing a backup of phone memory to memory card. I realized that this reversed the problem created by updating the IR in the first place, causing itto be disabled.
I don't know how this technique worked as I am not a techie, but this worked folks. I did not have to delete the IR files in the memory card as suggested, nor take out the memory card and reformat it afterward. All I did was: backed up the phone memory to the memory card, and then checked ( intuition told me to check) if the IR was working already. It was! However, I really don't know if this technique caused another problem in my unit. Hopefully, nothing else was affected adveresly by it. All I know is that the IR in my E63 is back!
Anyone who would care to explain why this worked will be highly appreciated.
