Thanks for the head's up - I was sorely tempted to upgrade. After the n97/Mac fiasco, I'm beginning to wonder if Nokia is losing it completely as far as the Mac is concerned.

Nokia has a plugin for iSync here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/is
E72, E75 and N97 all show up. Haven't tried it yet, but I now know someone who owns an E72 and I can probably test against my Mac next week to see if it really works.

I can't sync my E72 with my mac OS 10.5.8.
I already installed the plugin. It can't sync with the delivered USB connection as well as bluetooth.
See attachment my problem.
Am I doing something wrong?
Please help me!

Sometime this kinda thing can happen. Do as it says switch the phone off and restart. Alternatively restart you computer...... !!!!! ....
If nothing goes, try to use onyx, ( google on it please) Use your version for 10.5, Let it do repair of permissions (or do it urself using 'schijhulpprogramma' - Herstel Bevoegdheden) Conrol your disk too and if so repair)
I have experience with my own mac and many time this message was not due to a faulty phone or plugg in but to the mac and not giving it maintenance for a while. I think 10.5 does not need macjanitor, but if you let onyx do the job it will take care of that maintenance too.
So to be short try to use onyx and let it do most of maintenance. Don't let it delete passwords or cookies, cause that will mean a lot of work for you!
Oh yes and use Bluetooth! some phones can not be synced with usb and mac.

This is what I downloaded from
http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/is
and it works
After you install the plug in, open iSync, find new device, E72 will showup and click sync.

I have tried pretty much EVERYTHING..
Don't panic. Before sending back the chinese plastic plethora you might try some things.
- Always use bluetooth ( I think USB isn't supported anyway)
- Install correct iSync plugin (again)
- Pair (Bluetooth) your E72 with the mac (again), select all services
- go to Bluetooth preferences and select your E72, there should be a list of services, some of them containing "Sync"
- test the bluetooh connection, try to put some files to the phone (BT Menu Icon > Send File) - does it work?
- remove any other phone from iSync, syncing several phones at the same time may cause errors
If syncing fails, what does the protocol say?

Yep, I found the latest iSync downloads on the site - for my E72 and N900 (that one was a particularly pleasant surprise), did the simple download, install and it worked perfectly. Very cool.

I have also downloaded the newest iSync plug-in (2v2) for the E72. And it installs and appears to work without working. (yes!)
You may think it's working because the iSync process runs without errors, but look at the data synchronized, and especially the data _not_ synchronized! At least in my case.
To test out the 2v2 plug-in, one must do a completely clean sync.
To do this, I removed the E72 from iSync, removed it from Bluetooth preferences, and then re-paired the E72 with the Mac. Then one gets an option in iSync to Erase data on device and then sync.
This should work but it doesn't! I found I had to delete plist files for and restart both AddressBook and iCal. And go through this process a few times, including power on/off of both phone and Mac before it starts working again.
Note that it also appears impossible to delete entries on the E72 itself. Delete before date (e.g. today) does nothing. Mark all and Delete contacts on the phone works. Yet subsequent iSyncs may just return what was there already, even if I change the iSync preferences, to synchronize another group, for example. So go thru the removing device, deleting plist files, power on/off, etc. until you get it right.
Only time will tell. Most of it appears to sync now, but I still get errors from iSync about entries with birthdays I deleted from AddressBook months ago. It still complains about them every time. I think it's got something to do with the automatic population of birthdays in iCal from AddressBook. Perhaps I should turn that off?

I hv a E72, bought in China.
First time, it did not work with iSync since I did not load the plug in.
Now all is ok.
But one thing for sure... the USB cable does not work. But Bluetooth worked fine.
