If you want to give Nokia feedback, you could do it from here

Thanks, I used the link and tried submitting the feedback, but the 'submit' link was broken somehow. I have now faxed them instead at the Farnsborough address. For what it's worth.

Hopefully you'll get a response from them... but as far as the broken link's concerned, I've heard many people commenting on that but I think it's more to do with browser settings - I just sent them an email this morning from that link and got a response a short time ago so it's working fine for me.

Then why not port series 60 to future versions of the communicator? The platform is a very capable one and could quite easily perform all of the tasks a series 80 phone can. BTW, why couldn't it have series 60 on cover phone? after all the current versions of communicators use series 40 interface on the cover and series 80 inside. Just a thought.

BigGuy,

I think you are right :smileyhappy:

The best way is to port the S60 to the communicator then tweak it for communicator with latest Symbian OS 9.x OS.

I think Nokia should have one platform.

Why have THREE INCOMPATIBLE PLATFORMS if you can have ONE. Why have 3 separate SDKs, why have three separate support teams, FAQs, knowledge bases, etc. etc. This only makes it slower, more difficult and more costly to develop for Symbian OS. S60 3rd Edition supports many screen resolutions (from small phone screens to large VGA screens like the one of 7710), many different input methods (from phone keypad to touch screen), flexible, scalable UI, etc.

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator

Not really :smileyhappy:

I moved to E70 and E61 because they are faster than 9300i :smileytongue:

But I love the look of communicator 9300i over them too.

Which is exactly what we are asking for in the next model - if there is to be one of course, a faster processor amongst other things.

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator

yea the E series are faster, but they dont have the full qwerty keyboard, plus also the main important thing is the PDA wide screen.

i find that the communicator has an option which is not avaliable in any other nokia phone.

in messages you can set a schudled sms to be sent on a specfic time and date, which is always helpful :smileywink:

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator

Yo man, I agree with you. I'm also a Nokia 9500 Communicator user, this is a great phone that I love most among the phone that in the market. For sure that if there could be having 3G, higher camera megapixel(eg. 3.0 or higher). I'm now waiting a surprise from Nokia that 1 day this kind of Nokia Communicator will success.

Thank you!

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator

This is a good idea, I would also like to see a higher resolution screen like on the E and N series.

I would say yes, once you have a communicator you are stuck to it. I have had a 9110i since 2003 and I still use it regularly!

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator

Hey, my HP6515 has a reboot pinhole, and syncs every time. My Outlook isn’t full of **bleep**. I can power off from the button on the front.

Oh yes, I can flash upgrade it myself.

Its not as stylish at my 9500 was, the screen isn’t as good, and the keyboard is tiny. But it has one distinct acdantage over my 9110i, 9210i and 9500. It WORKS…..

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator

This is exactly what they did for me too - changed my handset twice.

For every problem they say there is too much data on the phone - calendar; contacts ( (in 128MB memory card)!! I cannot understand how DATA CAN BE TOO MUCH. The phone should be able to cope with whatever it is supposed to cope with given the features and facilities !!

Basically the problem is with the capacity & speed of the processor which is pathetically inadequate for an otherwise excellently featured phone!! In the interregnum they should try to tweak the software to squeeze out as much performance as possible from the processor.

Re: I wish a New 9500i communicator-Processor speed

[ Edited ]
I think processor speed is one factor for what we see frequently memory full, applications full and lots more garbage errors.
So processor speed should be at least 416 MHz with 128 megabyte ROM and remember one thing-we dont need to be in a problem with the hinge!
Another important issue is camera if one may wish to add this Nokia must or even may a 3 Mpix camera with powerful Autofocus and right now it has to be more powerful than ASUS P525 or P535.
