I Give up on E71

Just two months down the lane n my E71 has already started showing problems.

The company claims stanby battery duration of 15days but mine doesnt last long than a hour.

To add up to tat the portion near my camera gets heated up for no good reason and for that even my camera has blurred up.

All these ve jus taken up my faith n reliability on nokia...

Take it to a Nokia repair centre I would suggest the phone is big time faulty and this could be a risk.

Please tell me where a phone lasts in real world where the company be it Nokia Motorola Sony etc as long as it says it does, because I dont know where?

I want a phone that does everything takes pictures, emails continuously, makes 3 hour phone calls and in must be about the size of a credit card and lasts 2 months between charges  - this isn't going to happen.

Your battery could be faulty if it doesnt last an hour then this is a problem.

As for the camera getting hot this sounds like a defect, and heat is generated by consuming power, and this could explain why your battery is not lasting as long, however because the majority of the external casing of the E71 is stainless steel, it could be heat generated by battery discharge and you actually holding the phone, but if it is getting hot then take it to a care point.

That link will help you find a care point in your local area,

The phone battery, is a chemical device which means its variable for a start, next the phone is tested in a lab with specific standards set with signal power and temperatures.

This means that under testing with only basic services this is how long the battery will last. If you have other stuff running then it will consume more power.

The battery is getting hot I'd imagine because of the rate it is being discharged, the heat is being conducted by the back of the case from the battery at a guess.

Re: I Give up on E71

Ah Shunts...... Hammering common sense into people everywhere, I love it.

Honestly though, if you end up talking to a person for an hour or more I suggest meeting at a pub, it would cost about the same and would be a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

Any phone like the E71 running multiple programs, with the wifi scanning and bluetooth turned on and talking for an hour...... Im surprised that its still a phone and you haven't received 1st degree burns! My phone gets hot on the back charging, using the gps or leaving too many programs open, I count myself lucky to get a day and a half use out of my phone with 4 or 5 programs running actively, and 2 running within the system, bluetooth on and with music player, texting and phone calls throughout the day.

Like Shunts says if you dont get more than an hours worth of phone calls out of it, take it back to your dealer. They will be able to give you more help than we can here. At your phone shop, find someone that uses this phone personally or is knowledgable about phones and pump them for info and tips and tricks, you get the added bonus of actually speaking to someone and having them show you which in this customer service day and age is a rarity.
