Hi

I would like to update my e71 from firmware 200. to 400. - but I do not own a copy of Windows.

I have tried defining a server as detailed here http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update/faq#faq17 but that does not seem to work - is this method still supported? I just get 'Operation Cancelled by the Server' both when I connect via the LAN or by 3g.

How do us non-Windows users update our phones, please?

Any ideas on this - surely Nokia don't expect you to have Windows and offer no alternative?

Can anyone else get the upgrade via the phone to work?

The alternative is to have a Nokia Care Point do the update. If the phone is still under warranty then the update is free of charge, and the Care Point should be able to do it for you while you wait (unless you're in France).

Not many S60v3FP1 phones (such as the E71) support FOTA.

Even for phones that do support FOTA, it also depends on whether the firmware in question is released via that method. For example, V40 for the 5800 was released only by NSU in the UK while it was released via FOTA in Greece...
