How to update software on e72?

I am using the facebook app for e71/72. It is really buggy and I want to know any update as soon as it's available. A really annoying problem in ovi store is that it does NOT have version number listed. You have no idea if there is an update for your app.

I know there is a menu->ctrl. panel -> phone->SW update to check for software update. But does it check third party software? Especially for the app downloaded from ovi store.

How am I supposed to check updates for those third party apps?
