I have seen some posts about communicators grinding to a halt or not working correctly. Sometimes this is due to the phone needing it os reinstalled (in a similar fashion to a PC). You can do this by formatting the device. Doing this will totally wipe the device of all your info, so take a backup etc.

To format a communicator, take out the battery. Just after you put it back in hold down ctrl + shift + f. You will be asked if you want to format the phone, say yes to continue.

you will loose everything, so be warned...

I tried this on 9300i and it did not work.

I thought by resetting it I could solve my problem of the keyboard being in German and not english.

Hi Scraphim,
Your suggestion on reformating the memory worked.
I am sorry that I Stated that it did not work.
One needs to hold down the 3 keys until the communitor screed changes to the format question. This occures fefore it starts booting.
By the way Nokia supply a document that can be down loaded from their site that xplains this.

I have still not managed to change the keyboard from German to English.

Hi!
Where can I find a document descrabing formating you mentioned?
I have my 9300i with German keyboard - should I use:
Strg + shift + f keys to perform reset?
