OK, I'm about to get a new phone, and I really like the E71 and the E63.  Naively I assumed that getting the phone with the higher series number would mean getting the better phone.  But after a bit of research, I've discovered both phones have good and bad points.

Here's what I have so far:

E63 has universal headphone jack, E71 doesn't.  This isn't such a big deal, I can get an adapter on ebay pretty cheap.

People say the E63 keyboard is easier to use (may just be a matter of opinion)

E71 has a 3.2MP camera with auto focus compared to the E63's 2MP fixed focus camera.  I currently have the E51 which has a 2mp camera.  It's ok, but I like the idea of having a better camera, which is why this is such a tough choice.  If the E63 had a better camera this would be a no brainer.

Finally, the larger size of the E62 and lack of GPS don't bother me much, in case anyone was going to mention that.

I think the main thing that's worrying me is the keyboard on the E71.  I've read reviews saying the keyboard on the E63 is better.  Fair enough, but is the E71 that terrible or does it just take a bit of getting used to?

Any advice guys?  I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried both, or rom E71 owners on what they keyboard is like.

Keyboard is fine on the e71, takes a little getting used to.

I'd go for the e63 though, the e71 isn't exactly old but the e63 is a lot newer.

That being said, the E71 feels more solid and has a metal battery cover and the front cover is more nice. E63 feels very plastic-y.

If you are interested in GPS (with subscription), you have to go to E71. Else, stick with E63.

Both are equally buggy.

Both are brilliant, but I would simply go for the E71. The build quality the materials used are just better overall. The QWERTY keypad on the E71 is good, but I suggest trying them out first before you go for either.

The E72 is out soon and looks like being a real winner.

i have the e63 and i think its a great device, it has a nice keypad(although i cant compare it with the e71) and has all the main features you will need and expect from a e-series phone.

the camera is not the best that there is but if you are getting a phone like this one, i'm sure its not for the camera...for the price i think e63 is a good phone and i'm happy with it.

the main difference between the two is the build(cheaper parts on e63, its plastic e71 is metal...) and lack of gps on e63

E71 wins over E63 hands down. Get yourself an E71.

Them keyboard ain't a problem at all. This is my first QWERTY phone and now I'm almost used to it.

go for the e63 without a dowt the better phone .!

the e71 has gps and 3.2 mp camera and thats about it .

E71 is The Phone, and now is a cheap option.

If you are able to wait and spend a little more money, I recommend its evolution: E72.

I don´t understand why they create E63.

They created E63 for me who do not use HDSP, whose jobs do not require high spec camera, who thinks E71 is too formal in form, who need lighter device in shirt pocket, who is not willing to pay for things he does not use, and who thinks device for are practical usage not prestige.
