I've just got the ultimate ears metrofi 220vi headphones but when I plug them in it says enhancement not supported. In the settings I have the headphones set as the default. Can anyone help?

¨enhancement not supported¨ that´s mean ur set is not supported/compatible with that headphones. u have to change it with compatible accesory and by the way on which mobile did u tried that.

Lol would help if I said which phone. It's the E63. I'm gutted, I'm sure I read somewhere that you could use any headphones with it.

You can use any headphone with a 3.5mm jack with E63. Have you tried any other headphone with your phone? I doubt if your Ultimate Ears would go bad. But that is also a possibility. If another earphone works fine with the phone, then it's time to repair/replace the Ultimate Ears. Or else, take the phone to the nearest Nokia Care Point and have it inspected.

The only other headphones I've tried are the ones that came with the phone and they work fine. As for the ultimate ears, they're brand new, and aren't a really cheap pair. Weird thing is, I didn't have them plugged in all the way at first and had sound coming out of one ear. It also asked me which enhancement ie headset, headphones or docking station. Then when I pushed them in all the way I had enhancement not supported come up. When I plug them in fully first time I just get enhancement not supported. As for a nokia care point, don't think I have one anywhere near me.

My 5800 asks me to choose between headphones, headset, line-out, etc when I plug into the jack. Does yours? If so, what are you choosing? Headphones is for music. Headset is for hands free phone use.

I can confirm there seems to be a problem with Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220vi headset and Nokia phones.

I have tried them on an E52, E63 and N85 handsets and all exhibit problems - I have emailed UE to find out if its a known thing.
