The shortcut notification image at the bottom of the screen for my e71 has disappeared and each time I get a new message it doesn't show up anymore. I have to manually go to the messages at the top of the screen and then go to inbox to see the new message when before I could just click the little shortcut that popped up at the bottom of the home screen which would lead me straight to the new image.

Here is what I'm talking about:

I've tried restoring the factory settings on my phone and it didn't set it back to the way it used to be. I'm lost on what to do in order to get it back.

You're right, mine are gone as well.

Not sure why and how. I probably disabled something....

Found it.

go to: Menu > Ctrl Panel > Modes > Home Screen Applications

Enable "Message Notification"

After receiving a message the button in the screen re-appears

I am having a similar problem, but my e-mail 1 and 2 notifications are showing and my to do's. I have gone into settings and they are chosen with a check mark. recently updated to firmware ver.400.21.013.
