Hi,
I am in the process of upgrading the firmware on an E90.
It seemed to be nearly complete, then it announced that it could not find the phone (it is still connected through a USB cable).
Now it has been on a screen "Updating the software" with 1 second remaining for the past hour. The E90 shows "400.34.93 Test Mode" on a white background.
It tells me I should not disconnect or close the updating software.
Any suggestions on what to do next.
Many thanks
Roger

Hi rogernye, I have experienced a similar situation in the past, during upgrade of latest firmware the PC suddenly indicates my E90 is disconnected, it puts me in a dilemma whether to abort & disconnect.
But I also have to heed the warning of the consequences of damaging my handset, I can't recall the exact steps taken but for sure it was disconnected or aborted & I tried again, fortunately the phone didn't suffer any damages.
If indeed your phone is damaged after disconnection your alternative to take it to the Nokia care point to have it upgraded there, good luck![]()

Hello rogernye,
Try this:
remove the battery for 1-2 minutes and try to install again the new firmware.
Regards.

Thanks for the suggestions.
After a couple of hours it came back with instructions (on the PC) to remove the battery and plug in the cables in a specific order.
When it rebooted, the phone appears to be working no worse than before.
I will not try the new firmware, as I have feel lucky to have escaped with a functional phone this time.
I will also never go back to the Service Centre - another mistake I would only make once!
