What is going on with E90 firmware? Aside from the fact that it's buggy and incomplete, it hasn't had an update in months. It might even have had a downgrade.
My current firmware version is 400.34.93 (unbranded).
However, the latest firmware for my product code (0533332) is shown as 300.34.84.
Of course, this means the firmware update tool thinks I'm up to date already.
What happened? Why has the number gone down? How do "downgrade" and is it actually an upgrade in this case?
Maybe somebody competent can help me here (this isn't the first time direct messages to Nokia support have gone unanswered).
Thanks.
Simon

Maybe I'm not competent but keep in mind we're all users here and we can only make suggestions.
As you wrote, your 400.34.93 firmware is buggy and incomplete. That could very well be the reason why Nokia rolled back the firmware update, even though it's weird. Use Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater to reinstall the firmware.

I'll have a look again when I'm back in the broken OS (incidentally, why is the firmware update tool Windows only? It's appalling- especially in this day and age), but I'm sure that the update tool won't allow me to downgrade.
The E90 was a VERY expensive top range business phone- I still cannot believe the way that Nokia has just abandoned it.

I must agree on this.
We have a few users that still use this handset at the company where I work, but most of us have swapped them for something that does not have software problems several times a week.
I have mine in a drawer, as the only offer I got from Nokia was a replacement unit which I am confident will not do anything different from the 10+ units we already have.

Nope. As I suspected, there is no downgrade. So officially I'm stuck. The only way to fix this is to use the product code switching hack.
Nokia you fail so badly at software it's unbelievable. Please- just open the phones up and stick to hardware.

I finally managed to get through to Nokia support. It turns out that the version 400 firmware is actually the latest. The web firmware checker is out of date. Fail.

Can you still reinstall the firmware? If so, reset the E90 right after installation. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings.

In the past you were able to downgrade the firmware, this is no longer the case. If you want it downgraded, the phone needs to be sent out. There are 3rd parties that can do this like iUnlock.
