I own an E75 handset. I must say that it is the worst mobile telephone I have ever owned. Within a year the screen began to blacken out when used, or else become otherwise corrupted. Soon after, the handset would turn off for no reason. In reading these discussion boards, it seems that these problems are quite common for this model. One would think that Nokia would recall the model or provide some kind of fix. Alas, neither has been done. I am currently in Vietnam for business so I took the unit to the local “Care Point.” After FOUR visits, the manager of the centre tells me that they are unable to fix the problems and that I should have it fixed in Europe. I should mention that the E75 is sold in Vietnam (mine was bought in Europe), so one would think that they have the ability to fix it. I have two problems with this advice:
1. I will not be in Europe for another 4 months (this is the nature of my business); and
2. My telephone is incredibly important for my work. I bought a Nokia product on the basis that it could be serviced anywhere in the world. This does not seem to be the case.
At this point I am I at my wits end and the €500 handset is proving absolutely useless. It is no wonder that Nokia is losing market share to Apple, HTC and Blackberry. I have been a Nokia user for all of my life. If I do not receive an adequate response from a Nokia service representative soon I think I will consider another brand for my next mobile telephone.
