E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

Likely user error again but I can't work out how to get a single ?  I can get ?? but not ? but using the blue arrow shift key.

No problems getting the ! in a single form using the same blue arrow key, but can't get the same effect with the ?

Predictive text is on.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

Works for me with or without predictive text. Only one '?' is shown when I press the '?´key once the blue arrow is pressed.

Same thing, if I keep the blue arrow down, and then press '?'.

Firmware version 100.48.78.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

I'm having the same exact issue as the original poster above.

With predictive text on I cannot get a single "?" at the end of a sentence.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

Is anybody reading this thread?
This is a serious issue, especially for a $500 phone!
Somebody please help, it's getting seriously annoying having to turn off predictive text every time i want to type a "?" at the end of a sentence.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

Even if many are or might be reading this, if they haven't seen the problem or know to fix it, it doesn't help you.

I have an E75, for example, and as I stated, I don't see such behaviour on mine, and I have no idea why you do.

Maybe you could contact Nokia Customer Care and ask them for help (see the "Contact us" link up on the right on this page.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

Kiya - glad it's not just me!  It appears to be marginally more difficult to get a ? without a '? or a ''? or a ''?? in email than in SMS text.  Not sure why.  Regardless of whether you use a long hold on the key or the blue arrow.

Interestingly if the ? is not in a text stream it works fine.  If it's the first character you type - no problems - but when it's attached to other characters it's not functioning the same way as the !  does.

It's very annoying!!

Petrib - can you type - How? easily - as in no problems at all?  Am envious if you can.  Am otherwise quite in love with this handset.

Have posted a query to Customer Care.  Interested to see their reply.  Meanwhile having lunch with the carrier liscensee who sold me the phone - we will see what he says too.

So I rang customer care and they said - to use an Australian colloquialism - "it's buggered",  bring it in and we will replace or fix it.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

I called Nokia and after speaking to a person i could barely understand due to line condition and accent they transferred me to somebody else that told me to take it to a Nokia store.

Too bad there's only one or two Nokia stores in the country and i'm in San Francisco.

I've had 3 major issues with this phone and i spent almost $600 on it.

Re: E75 keyboard - getting a single ?

I contacted Nokia about the problem with predictive text on this model of phone and the customer advisor said he will personally pass my comments onto the research and development team.

I'm using firmware version 110.48.125 which has just recently been updated.
