Just received my Nokia E72 and I was using the E71 before and although the phones should be similar, i still have a few questions

- Transfer / put backup from E71 to E72
Before i sold the E71, i have made a backup using PC Suite and also made a backup of all sms messages
Problem is that i hooked up my E72 to PC suite and am unable to restore my E71 calendar onto the E72.
How can i put back the calendar and messages on the new phone?

- Disable menu animations

Is it possible to disable all those fade ins/outs from menu's etc?

- Wifi selection
On the E71 whenever you need an internet connection you would get a nice list with all the available wifi and internet connections around.
The E72 highlights the default internet connection to be used, but when you want to use a different selection and you click on 'use another access point' then it doesnt give you a list at all but picks one automatically
How can i get the nice selection screen back as used in the E71 ?

They are not similar despite the identical looking exterior. For example, one runs on FP1 and another on FP2.

Have you ever synced your E71 to a desktop PIM application (like Outlook)? If so you can resync your PIM data with the E72 and everything should be restored.

You can also use the Switch application which allows a user to sync their SMS (and other PIM data) between two Nokia phones. 

Seeing as you have sold your E71, I can't think of any way to extract your SMS and restore them onto the E72, except maybe to borrow a E71 and restore your back on it before using the Switch application on it (works great - I used it to sync my E51 to my E55, with plenty of temporary loan phones in between like the E75, E66, E71, N97 Mini etc.).

Menu animations can be disabled by going to Themes - General - Options - Theme Effects - Off

By selection screen, I take it you mean 'modes' which allows you to switch between two virtual desktops?

Any other ways to transfer the calendar from a backup to the E72?

What i meant with the selection screen is that when you open an application that requires Internet access, on the E71 you will get a nice popup with ALL the available connections.

On the E72, you will see a popup with the 'default' connection selected and then an option to select a different internet connection - but selecting this doesnt do much
