My E72 is not vibrating as long as it is connected to a charger (normal or micro USB).
I could not find a setting for this behaviour. Is this supposed to be a feature?
I think I also observed that the vibrating is gone when the battery is very low. It then does not return until the battery is fully charged again.

It is normaol for the phone not to vibrate when charging. The purpose of the vibration is to alert you to an incoming call when the phone is in your pocket. It is unlikely that you will ever charge the phone when it is in your pcket.

That is true, they don't vibrate when charging. Most Nokias do that, it is normal.
As for the vibration power, the intensity can be controlled (I've seen games that allow you to change it) so it makes sense that the firmware reduces intensity when it enters power-saving (battery almost empty) as lower intensity probably means less power is used.

Thats what I thought was behind it. Thanks
At least In my case also the optical-nav-pad feedback is gone. I may use the phone and the navpad when its is charging on my desk, so this appears a bit inconsistent. Can I put that back on?

Better still, if there was a profile which the phone automatically switches to when charging. Then we can personalise this profile whatever way we want.

Thanks for the fast replies.
After all I would say that:
- switching of vibating alarms while charging is a good feature in general but it should be switchable and it should be mentioned somewhere in the user guide / help texts.
- switching off the feedback for the optical navi key is another story. This vibrating feedback is part of the user interface now. Modifying the user interface when a charger is plugged in without notice is very "unconventional" to say the least. Maybe we should forward this to the nokia forums as a bug if its not already done.
