Hi, I have an E72-2, when i bought it, the phone was without a memory card so i purchased a blank one. Lately i am having repeatedly a message on the screen saying "remove memory card and press ok". I called nokia care and they told me to format the memory card which i did but still having the same problem. I tried backing up, formatting and then restoring many times : still the same. so i emptied every thing from the card : removed installed apps and music files and pictures and used the phone for a couple of days , everything was ok. Now i put back the music files on the card (through usb connection) and re-assigned ringing tones, the problem appears again and the phone is not reading the card (it's there but it's like blank) like it's rejecting it.
My question is : is the problem in the memory card (corrupted, defected) or in the phone? if it's the card I don't want it to damage the phone, should i buy a new one to resolve the problem? At nokia care they told me that just formatting the card will make it as new, is that correct?
I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks

Formatting the card will indeed make it as new as far as its ability to store anything can be. Best to use a high quality card and if it is or not you should have it replaced.

Hi
I was having lots of memory problems with the E72 with the music player and maps shutting down the phone. In the end I formatted the phone back to factory, then formatted the memory card using the phone and then loaded all the files back on again.
Since then maps syncs the gps fast, the music player works well and so far the phone hasnt shut down of its own accord.
Hope this helps
Andy

The first memory card I bought was broken. It would ssem to format normally but then only display as 30MB even though it was 16GB. I tried different apps to format it, different orders of doing things, but in the end, it was just broken.
You could try reading it in your computer if you have a proper adapter, and working with it continuously for a while to see if it also gives you errors? It's not unthinkable that the memory card is faulty at least.

I had the exact same problem, It is because once you take the memory card out, it does not properly go in, and keep coming out
you have to push it till it gives a CLICK sound
can use some key to push it up

In general this is correct. You should always format the memory card using the phone. (In file manager choose the card, then options, memory card options > format).
Sometimes there might be problems with special manufacturers. On another phone (E51) I had neverending troubles with a Transcend memory card. When I finally put in a Sandisk everything worked fine.
So if you have a chance try with another brand, especially if you are using a noname memory card.
