I have a problem in my e72 , when i try to type similar repeated number for example when i try to type 444444 the phone will take a few sec to type it please what's the solution to the problem .

Note that i do a hard reset to the phone i also update the firmware.

It's just how it is on the E72 with firmware V22. There's nothing you can do.

It's not just repeated digits, it's any digits. Some take a while to appear, even if the contact search facility is switched off.

You can't do that yourself. You can, however, approach a Nokia Care Point and ask them to downgrade the firmware from V022.007 to V021.024.

Does it really matter? Do you not use your contacts list most of the time for dialling numbers? Personally, I can put up with this imperfection if it means keeping the rest of the benefits of the update.

Problem is also present on E72 with FW 054.005 :/

This lag is caused by contact searching, when you type a digit, the phone is trying to search between contacts.

So it should be solved in the other way.

After typing something on keyboard, searching through contacts should be ran in background, but digits should be displayed withoud any lag - otherwise it confuses user who doesn't know if he really pressed the key or not and if he needs to type the key again or not. 

So with something about 20 contacts saved in memory I already have lag on E72. You want to tell me that with 200 contacts lag will be even bigger?

I really don't thin the number of contacts is causing your lag. I have just tried searching a name beginning with S on my two E72s, one running ver 054.004, the other 71.004, both have over 500 contacts. I get no lag whatsoever.

Only gripe now is that the latest firmware doesn't allow me to search for a company name (a problem already reported earlier this week).

When I meant lag, I meant several fraction of a second. If you have to wait seconds, then something is wrong there, why don't you try to reinstall the latest firmware ( REINSTALL using Nokia Ovi Suite ) , maybe this will fix your issue

me .. i experience the lag too ... slow process my E72 ... also i cant connect in WiFi ... sorry im im not good in english ...

My E72 has always had this lag - a slight pause between the button being pressed and the number appearing on screen. I know it's not ideal, but I just learned to live with it as this is my favourite phone to date and all the good bits make up for the bad bits.

since I upgraded to v071.004 on two different E72 phones..the lag is gone
