I find the E72 not easy to use if you are not looking at the phone, ie if you want to end a call, you cannot press the 'end' button by feeling for it. If for eg the 'end call' button was the top right button, then ending a call could be done merely by feeling for the first button. Now with the flat surface buttons, its impossible to do so without having to look at the phone.
Anyone find that a problem?

Not at all.
The "end" key is right underneath the "contacts" and "messaging" one-touch keys, which are not flat. Feel for those and press the button directly underneath them.
It's also directly above the I, O and P keys, which are domed. Press the first flat thing above the QWERTY keypad on the right and you're home and dry as well.
Thirdly, it's directly to the right of the lower ridge of the D-pad.
That's 3 ways to locate the key without looking. I'd say that there's no problem in doing so.

My opinion is it just needs a bit more getting used to.
On my old cellphone (Nokia 3530 -- which I've been using for 5 years), I'm able to compose and send simple SMS text messages without looking at the cellphone at all (well, maybe need to look at the cellphone display only when selecting the recipient to send to). Couldn't replicate that feat yet with my E72. ;-)

I find that I tend to look at the display when composing a message on the E72, not at the keypad. Then again, on a PC I do more or less touch-type. I didn't look at the keyboard once while typing the first two sentences of this message, for example.
