E72 IMAP IDLE problem

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I am trying to configure my gmail account as a push email account on my new e72-1 but there is a problem with IMAP IDLE on E72 default email client.

I have checked GMAIL IMAP by connecting via openssl and see that there is a SSL timeout for GMAIL (see below). After 300 sec, the connection is disconnected. I guess because of same reason E72 doesnt get emails after 5 mins even there is a active GPRS connection exits.

As far as I know, most of IMAP Email accounts have a timeout with/without SSL.

.There should be a mechanism to send DONE / IDLE before the timeout in E72. I have tried interval check as 5 mins but it is not working as well.

I hope Nokia is already aware this problem and provide a solution soon. NOT email.nokia.com, it is not a solution.

Re: E72 IMAP IDLE problem

Hi

I'm curious caused by me being a little unclear. Does this mean that the phone sets 300 or that the server sets that?
