E72 E-Mail does not sound the alert sound when an email is received

Dear all, Can someone help?

I just bought an E72 and activated my gmail on it. I now receive all my gmail emails in a "push mode" without any problems. But despite the fact that I have set in the active profile "General" the "Email 2.aac" alert tone, no alert tone is sounded when a message is received. I tried many other tones, but none works. All other alert tones work well with SMS, but none with Email. Any ideas / suggestions where the problem could be?

Many thanks

Hussein

I am very disappointed as well, you are very correct they don't alert all the email accounts but only for the TWO (max. two account only) accounts you set on the standby screen will get the alert. This is not right, what is the point having the Nokia messaging technique which doesn't alert you when you have emails come in! Crazy right?

I also lost the alert tone after the latest firmware upgrade. But after having taken out the battery, waited five minutes and then reinserted it, the alert tone and vibrator is back. Can’t guarantee that the fix will last, though.
