E72 - Cant't retrieve my email

I have a bog standard POP email account, however when I try to retrieve my email I get a message saying login failure. No issue when doing this with my old E61.  The older (E61) version of the mail client has a box for "username" and "mailbox", while the E72 mail client just asks for email address and mailbox.

When you've put those details in and it can't automatically configure it, the next screen asks for more information, so choose pop/imap from the list...

 

It caught me out a  few times too...

I select "other" from the list.  It then asks me for my email address, then password,  then it says "validating email account", then I select POP/IMAP, then is asks extra questions e.g. incoming mail server, etc, but nothing about "username" then it says "creating new mailbox", then same error "Unable to log in. Try again."

Hi,

I got an E72 a few days ago, set up the email thru Hotmail - no problems at all.  But I apparently had 2 different hotmail accounts - one "hotmail", one "hotmail(2)".  In true idiot style I then deleted both accounts to see if I could start again with just the one.  Now nothing works at all.  I cannot set up the account again.  What is going on?  Any ideas?
