I wound say E71 is a very good PDA, which can run a lot of soft others device can't.
However, as a mobile phone, whose core function, call in/out, can't work stable, E71 is suck. Can it be named mobile phone?
Let me the fatal bugs existing in E71 (200, 300 firmware), which is branded as E series.
1. device hang when incoming call. When user is receving incoming call, the device freeze, and have to pull out battery to restart to fix it. Nokia, though who represents the stable, exist such bug in the kenel fuction.
2. Phone call delay....
Actually, for 1, I can recur it every 50 times incoming call. Do you know? I can only make one person to my customer after making 50 calls. If the latent customer making call to me, and he is lucky enough to freeze my phone.... I can't image...
Dear Nokia, could you please see what's your customer is complaining? I lose a customer won't affect, but please take good care of your customer.
Can you fix these two bugs in next firmware? Can you give us a good reason if you can't?
We are waiting for you .

Thanks for your information. But I have tryied both GSM & dual-mode some days before, can't work either.
Let me show you the solution I have tried:
1. Try to use different mode: GSM & dual-mode
2. Change a new 128K sim card at carrier.
3. Format phone. try to receive incoming call with totolly clear device without any 3-part app.
4. Change another battery.
5. Use the basic ring but not mp3 on memory card.
What I didn't try is to downgrade the device firmware to 100 ( currently, it's 300 for my device ), which is very risk.
And, definetely, it is not a single case, you could search out a lot same cases by google "E71 freeze incoming call".

I can also praise the E71, it's an awesome handset that I was using for about a year, the only regular issue I had with it was with 1 piece of the 3rd party software I always use, but that's only because I kept forgetting about it.
Truly a great piece of kit, both as a PDA and a mobile phone.

Seriously, if you are in your job hunting season and your E71 keeps hanging your potential employers calls, you will understand what I mean.
As an engineer, I am wondering whether those E71 guys are fired by Nokia? Maybe that's why they are not able to fix it anyway.

just google around to see how many people are having their E71 phones (not other nokia phones) freezed on incoming calls. My E71 has a firmware versioned of 200.*, however, NSU tells me that this phone does not have updates available. No idea what's going on there.
you are lucky and I am not. but anyway, I miss my old nokia phones that "make calls right"!
