My phone was fully charged (9'th charge since new) 6 hours ago, now i'm down to 2 bars on the battery meter. :-(

When i talk or surf the back cover of the phone gets HOT, i'm guesstimating 45-50 degrees (centigrade)

As this phone is mostly metal, its going to get a bit warm from use. However, if you feel that it is too hot, do not hesitate to take it into a local Nokia Care point to have it looked at.

Ok, something is fishy, i installed the energy profiler, and with no apps running i never get below 0.95w. I understand that's quite high?

As a comparison it uses 1.15w with me fidgeting around in the menu with the screen at full blast.

can you explain further how the metal generates heat making a metal phone warmer than a non-metal phone? isn't the heat generated by the CPU and the battery? not the metal?

My E50 is much cooler than my N95 and it has the metal back.

hi do your new e 71 get hot too? Mines get hot when I'm talking on phone. I'm scared it gonna burn my face. Mines going back too. But do your new phone get hot too?

I have the same problem with my Nokia E71 getting extremely hot after 10/15 mins of use. it seems the heat is being generated on both the back and front of the phone. Those changed their phones did it help and does it make a difference on what service provider you have?

It could be a hrdware issue with yours, kushti.
Changing service provider will not make a direct influence really, but If you have one which has bad coverage where you live, it will make your phone use more power to search for and obtain signals - hence it will heat up some more.

When used the phone will get more or less hot as it uses power and creates heat. - However, it depends on how much... It's hard for us to know if your phone has an issue, but if it is EXTREMELY hot, I would take it to a Nokia care point straight away and make them have a look at it.
