I have an E71 -1 and there is a download application in the main menu. The download catalog updates, but if I try to download anything, I get a message " Item download failed!"

I have earlier used this very application to download various apps like Worldmate, Locr etc., but it won't work anymore.

Does it have anything to do with the firmware update (they might have changed the links in the new version)or do you think it is some other reason I need to look at.

Yep, that is exactly what happens in my Nokia E71 when I try to download anything from Nokia Download Application. What is funny is that I was able to download application before and now I can not.
Does anyone have any idea of why Download Applications is not working for Nokia E71?

Happened to me also, but I found a solution:

goto Download!

then Options

then Settings

on Access Point, select User Defined

then select the access point that you are currently using whether Wlan or GPRS

you should then able to go back to the Download page and download without the Item failed...
