E71 VPN and proxy setup issue

Hi, I'm currently testing the Nokia E71 as a potential mobile mail and internet solution for our users. Due to network design, we require all inbound connections to connect via a DMZ Proxy server. So the phone connects to a checkpoint VPN (this works fine) and then it needs to pass all http/s traffic to the DMZ proxy server (preferably with proxy authentication) before it gets routed off to the intranet/internet.

eg. Phone -> VPN -> Proxy -> Intranet/Internet

The problem is that the internet browser does not seem to support setting a proxy server, is there a way around this? The proxy settings in the VPN profiles are only for outbound connections via proxy servers to the VPN endpoint so are not applicable. eg Phone -> Proxy -> VPN

The intranet function does seem to have a separate proxy definition but this apps seems to be restricted to a single URL and in any case it fails immediately with' Connection failed' when attempting to use any connection profile.

For testing purposes I'm using Putty to connect to a SSH server over the IPsec tunnel, this works fine so I know my VPN policies and connection profiles are setup ok.

Re: E71 VPN and proxy setup issue

When you edit your VPN access point definition, you should be able to set a proxy server/port.

I have two VPN configurations, one over the cellular network and the other over my home wifi. The proxy configuration associated with each VPN settings works for me.

This is in Tools-Settings-Connection-VPN-VPN access points.
