Hi,

What is the easiest way to record a phone conversation? Right now you start the phone call and go into menu and turn recorder on....is there a more direct and elegant way to do this?

There are third party app. which are doing this task.
The built in voice recorder can not be used as an automatic recording device.

Best app is the Ultimate Voice Recorder 5.05.

Its a great feature of automatically recording all voice calls in the background. Also it don't have the 1 minute beep that is required, so others don't realise the call is being recorded.

Yes, you can transfer to a computer. Can even automatically send it to you.

Highly recommended, I use it myself for both E51, E61 and E71.

Sounds just like what I need. In what format is the recording? Something that a Mac can play back natively?

AMR or WAV. Both can play back .. I use a imac with OSX 10.5.5 myself .. Using Quicktime.

I recommend Interactive Voice Call Master. Can be configured in various ways: white lists, black lists, forwarding, answering machine, etc.

I have to recommend Psiloc Xelnex Lite for the E71, its the only Call Recorder which works brilliantly on my E71.

Can record in AMR, WAV or MP3

I have tried most of these here - most of them would not install on my E72(S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 UI on Symbian OS v9.3) - except for VoxTracker. Which would crash after about a minute in to the conversation.

VoxTrack otherwise was the one that impressed me, UI wise. 

I sent the makers of Voxtrack an email (see below) - but in the mean time - does anyone have any suggestions?

I just tried the 7 day demo of the VoxTrack which I downloaded from your webpage. It installs fine on my  Nokia E72(S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 UI on Symbian OS v9.3) - but crashes badly after about 1 minute in to recording any conversation, it will not save any of the data that it has recorded during that minute.

works AWESOME!!!!

i hope they port it to maemo!

i would highly recomend IVCM as i ahve also tried the other products listed above and this was/is still the best one.

I've used Ultimate Voice Recorder for years now, starting with my N95 a few years ago.

Awesome application, works perfectly on the E71.

Cheap - can be bought via their site (www.fingertip-access.com) or the Ovi Store.

It does work on the E72, installs correctly, but the current version doesn't disable the beep, so I'm looking forward to the release of the next version.

Definitely highly recommended.

i do not recomend using the ovi store for this purchase.

if you have to reformat the phone for coruption or any other reason, OVI store will NOT let you redownload the product.  you will have to pay for it again

if you by any software from the OVI store, you will not be able to get ANY software updates that fix bugs from the developer or OVI

if you by any software from the OVI store, your money goes into the abyss and if it does not work or you do not like it, there is no return of your funds.

OVI store does NOT return any email requets for ANY information what so ever!

That's not exactly true, I've redownloaded software before, and I don't know about all applications, but if you contact the developer they're usually willing to assist with udpates etc.

I purchased Ultimate Voice Recorder and one of their other applications years ago from a different application store and they've been incredibly helpful and good with communication ever since, including providing new product keys when I've upgraded & replaced handsets.

Having said that, I'd still purchase directly rather than Ovi Store - though Ovi's great for developers that don't sell directly.
