Re: E71 - Problem after firmware upgrade

Did you backup with Nokia PC Suite or on your memory card? If the mem card is corrupted you've to reformat. you can copy yhe SIM contacts, if you have any, to your phone memory.

Re: E71 - Problem after firmware upgrade

"Memory Card Password" is not the same as the 12345 phone lock code.

Re: E71 - Problem after firmware upgrade

I don't know your code so, what do you want me to do? Did you buy the E71 second hand? Then you've to contact the seller or go to a Nokia Care Point.

Re: E71 - Problem after firmware upgrade

just upgraded and during restore of saved settings, files etc. it stopped with an error stating that it couldn't complete the restore due to lack of space on the device. It advised to restart the device, which I did, however the device now hangs until I press the power button again, which then displays the message:"Phone start-up failed, contact the retailer"

Re: E71 - Problem after firmware upgrade

The backuped settings can mess up when restoring on the device. Reset the device as described by Psychomania and restore the backup without the settings.

Re: E71 - Problem after firmware upgrade

Thanks for the response. In the end it may have sorted itself out (however the Nokia Care rep did have it out of my sight for 15-20 seconds - and may have snuck in the 3 button solution on the sly ;-)).

She (the rep) recited the error message to me before I finished explaining the issue seconds before she attempted to restart the phone (with no sign of any errors / messages!!!).

basically the phone was as it was immediately after I had upgraded to v410 (i.e., no personal settings or data).
