If you are getting memory full errors then this can be caused by too many applications running at the same time.
If you press the "House" key and hold it down it will tell you what applications are running.
Also to increase phone memory you can install your applications to the Memory Card rather than the phone memory, because it uses main memory to operate the applications, and this should free some up.

I still have this problem. I tried everything;
1. Soft reset
2. Hard reset
3. Upgraded FW to newest version
4. Tried with 1GB, 2GB, 4GB memory cards and always the same.
This is really making me angry. Everytime I want to use help topics I got memory full even after restart when no aplication is running. I can´t believe this.
If anyone can help...

I don´t think anybody can help us. We have phones with this bug and that´s it...
I gave mine to Nokia Care Center and I don´t expect anything from them. They told me; "Why did you installed so many applications???" I didn´t have time for an explanation. This is "smartphone" and I have 100% legal applications installed, I use Nokia smartphones since N7650 and I need these apps for my bussiness life and organization.I expect to hear news from them very soon. I hope so.

Hi,
For memory full errors, if you've checked you have no running apps have a look at the size of the background image on the screen. If it's too large you will get this error

Hello, I'm experiencing same problem in testing a java application we built time ago and never had problems on other Nokia devices (i.e. navigator6110).
I just upgraded my brand new E71-1 FW to 300.21.012 and have same strange memory problem. Does not seem to be related to java heap space, in fact a memory monitor keep signaling very low memory usage (700Kb in total memory Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() and about 150Kb of free memory Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory() ) .
Our application is using HTTP connection quite intensively making POST to a web service every 5 minutes. After about 5-6 hours it come out that error "an unhandled exception occurred" followed by the "memory full" error. then application is blocked and need to exit with hangup button.
We keep investigating on other devices if it behaves similar or if using WiFi instead of GPRS changes something.
Our suspect is that java VM has the memory problem instead of application.

Hello all,
I have a nokia E71 with the same problem. Bean checking it for some days now with a lot of internet forums.
I advice you all to take a look at the memory details ( you have 2 memories installed, one build in and the other as memory card). In my phone the problem is due to the build in memory. It is full but there are no apparent apps running that are too big.
Go to the file manager, open the phone memory, Than hit options and memory details.
You will find how match free memory you have to run apps.
My phone has only 1.5MB free after I have deleted all installed apps(it should have match more). Something is stuck in the memory...
I do not want to do a reset to the phone because it has Hebrew layout that was installed in a lab. A hard reset will delete it.
I hope someone will find the solution for this bug!
