E71 - How to change the display of contact name in SMS inbox

When I send an SMS to a contact I have saved on my phone and they reply, their name is displayed in my inbox as 'Surname Name'. (i.e. Billy Joel is displayed as: Joel Billy).

My phone contacts setting is set to display 'Name Surname', but I cannot find the menu setting for the SMS Inbox of what I want to display. I would really prefer to only see their first name, or at least 'Name Surname'.

Any ideas? I have an E71.

Thanks!

Re: E71 - How to change the display of contact name in SMS inbox

Hi,

There is no setting in the Messages to be changed to view the Name as you want. The only setting in the handset for changing the view of  Name is in the Contact settings. Menu > Communications > Contacts > Options > Settings > Name View.

"If this post helped you solve your query, please do click the KUDOS tab."

I would add that any change in the settings will only take effect for NEW messages that arrive after the setting was changed.

The list of messages you see is built as and when messages are added, not every time you view it.
