First of all... A GREAT PRODUCT! and a good job on the wish list. Just want to add in my bit.
1. Access Point Groups - the ability to have a combination of preferred access points, wifi and wap. Like the E61i
2. Full screen caller ID
3. More compatible printer drivers

My addition to the wishlist would be:
1- WLAN: Ability to automatically connect to any available WLAN without each time asking the user (just like any PC's WLAN).
2- Bluetooth/IR transfer: Ability to SAVE the transferred items in a folder, before it comes to the SMS Inbox.
3- On-the-fly Firmware Update: Ability to backup files inside available memory card and on-th-fly firmware update via phone's own Internet connection (No PC Suite required).
Thanks Nokia.

Regarding your Point 1. (Wi-Fi then GPRS data connection), check this application out (solved the issue for me):

Thanks redshark313. But I don't think E71 is capable of Automatic detection and connection to the available accesspoints. With this application you can have only ONE accesspoint to choose rather than a list of all your accesspoints.

Hi Kambod,
After installing SmartConnect on my E71-1, I have created a group "accesspoint" which has two wi-fi connection accespoints and a GPRS WAP connection - in that order (you can change the priority of each), and as far as I'm aware if it doesn't find the first accesspoint, it moves down the list until it connects, seems to work for me.
See the info. links I stated in my last post.

Yes that is how Smartconnect works. But what kambod is referring to is the ability to switch between WiFi connections without having to define the connections all the time. With smartconnect you would always have to be going into that access point setup and defining WiFi points as you come across them. It's really annoying.
I thought at one time I came across a pay software that would automatically switch between 3G/WiFi/Edge on the fly without having to go into the access point and define things. I can't remember the name of the software sadly.

Thanks redshark,
Smartconnect was exactly what I was looking for. Major improvement on my connectivity now.

on my e71 the gps chipset is amazing it works inside and out without a problem, better that that of the likes of n96, blackberry bold, sony ericsson c905
the fact that it doesnt have 3.5mm jack is annoying
and regarding the email service i dont know what you guys are moaning about, i have the nokia email installed and that works fine, true it isnt as fast as blackberry, but ive used blackberry connect before and that just doesn't allow large emails to be sent or recieved
the only problem i have with it is the menu icons, if i move them around, after a week it casues the phone to crash and to just allow me to do everything apart from access the menu, and when i restart the menu icons are back to factory settings

Ok I found the software I was thinking of. It's called Psiloc Connect. Supposedly will automatically switch between WiFi and 3G without havint to keep defining access points. But I suspect this will eat up battery since if you have it set to continually switch you to wifi as much as possible.

Wonder why Nokia didn't think of this idea themselves. I don't use the data connection while I'm moving so this isn't a big deal for me. But I suspect this would be handy for others.

Thanks thindertiger. It seems this app is a better version of Smartconnect as it can connect to the best available accesspoints around, however, I'm afraid this app can not "automatically" connect as well to the best accesspoint as it says in its description: "REMEMBER TO CHOOSE "Psiloc Connect" AS THE ACCESS POINT IN ANY APPLICATION THAT YOU WISH Psiloc Connect TO HANDLE." this means still you have to choose the accesspoint when using applications. Anyway, I guess it could be a good idea if Nokia does the trick through a firmware upgrade in a manner that we don't need to manually choose any accesspoint while using applications that needs Internet connection.
Thank you guys.

You are misunderstanding the instructions for Psiloc Connect. Once you have it installed it will create an access point called "Psiloc Connect" in the list of access points. Then you can configure your programs to always use that access point for their internet access. Once you do that your programs will no longer ask you to choose an access point.
If any of your programs still ask you to choose an access point whenever you use them.. then they are set to "Always Ask". You will have to double check their settings as most programs allow you to define 1 access point to use all the time and never ask you again to choose an access point.

sorry, I didn't search hard enough 10 euros......might be worth it, although Nokia really should include this feature within the phone, I mean really.
