After using Treo for 6 years, I thought it was time for change. I bought Nokia E71. The worst mistake of my life. This phone sux BIG TIME. Everything about it is complicated, missing or plain stupid. It doesn't retrieve your e-mail for 30 minutes (in business world, that's like 30 days). Contacts are not displayed fully unless you want to edit them, and updating existing contact requires a degree in rocket science. You can't change the background for your e-mail from the elaborate Nokia supplied theme (steel, light or dark, and of course, pay your WSP for additional themes), so if you have vision problem like I do it's almost impossible to see that thin red cursor. The Home Screen is poorly designed and although not a bad idea, it looks like dollar store toy phone display. There are more issues, but I have no more time. My advice: if you're in Canada/US and/or you need a phone for even peripheral business use, DON'T TOUCH THIS PHONE!

Mobile phone buying experience...........
1. Do some research on internet for phones that may suit your needs. Type in <mobile name>review in google.
2. Goto shop(s) and look at display models of narrowed down choices.
3.Ask assistant if they have a demo phone to use for 10 mins and have a play with/explore.
4.Buy phone, or choose another and goto step 3.
Just cos you dont like it and have possibly made an ill informe choice then its not the worse handset in the world is it? All phones have the good and bad points and all users will see them all differently.

bsp777,
The learning curve of the Symbian OS - S60 3rd addition - can be overwhelming even for the most technically savvy people. The system UI is an ongoing disaster and there isn't one element of it that can be described as intuitive. Luckily, we E71 owners do have a choice: iPhone, Palm Pre, and Google powered phones.
