Get yours flashed at an NCC.
Right after purchase the v200 firmware gave me that message like 50% of the time launching camera. Never happened again on v300. Seriously.

Remove the memory card and try the camera.
If its not working then I would back the handset up and then restore it back to factory defaults.
Enter *#7370# - Which will Reformat your phone (back up your personal data with PC Suite or to the memory card first!) You will lose everything.
When the phone comes on try the camera, if its working then you can restore the backup back to the phone, however if after the restoration the phones camera fails again, then there is something within your data/applications that is calling the camera into service.
Also you can try removing the memory card from the phone and try the camera with the memory card removed after the restore.
If its still the same after it has been restored, then the next thing you can do is reload a fresh copy of the firmware onto the handset using the Nokia software updater, remember this will also erase everything.
Again try the camera after the installation of the software.
If its still not working, then take it to a local Nokia care point explaining what you have done to try and resolve the problem.

This happened to me once. Although an application that used the camera was closed down, the camera failed to work as a leftover.
Then I rebooted the phone and it never happened again.

Hi shuntfield, your advise worked, so I'm giving you credit by kudos, I simply removed & reinserted the memory card for camera to function once again.
Excellent stuff, glad its working!

I just turn the phone on and off (you would have to do this to remove card also) and it works. PIECE of **bleep**, how annoying is it!!! Especially when you have a small bubs who does something funny and you want to capture an image/little video quickly. When I press my shortcuts they also sometimes bring up the wrong short cut. I think my phone must have a learning difficulty!!!
I will be investing in an iphone very shortly. Hopefully I won't have the same problems ![]()
