I have an E70, RM-10, Code 0538694, Firmware version 2.0618.07.10 31-08-06 (South Africa)

I know that there is a version 3 firmware released for the E70.

The nokia web site tells me that there are no firmware updates available, for my model number though.

How can I install the latest firmware on my phone?

If the nokia software updater is not offering you up-to-date firmware then your only option is to call into a nokia care point and ask them what version they have available.

I just called my local careline.

They said that Version 3 was the latest available, but could not give any reason as to why the website reports version 2 as the latest for me.

I got a vague reply that they would escalate the problem to investigate.

I'm guessing that they didn't release this firmware in your country.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. My E70 (exactly the same as yours) does allow me to download the upgrade. Goes through the process of writing it to the phone and then bombs out.

The download is about 42Mbytes. I've tried upgrading PC-suite, the cable driver, two different supported cable types, the latest software downloader, completely bypassing my firewall, offering a lamb to the Gods, salt over my shoulder, a black cat, and finally put the phone back in the drawer I put it in a year ago.

If the E90 is as good as this one, bring back the 9500 but don't make it an "E"

Checked many product codes for E70 for V3, it turns out that V3 is not available in Asia at all.

Nokia, please come up a V3 for Asia users.
