E7 Start up failed.

My phone froze and I shut it off and tried to turn it back on but everytime I try to power it back up it says "Phone start-up failed, contact the retailer" I recently updated my phone as well any suggestions?

Re: E7 Start up failed.

Have you tried to depress the powerbutton for 8 seconds? Doing this should make it vibrate shortly 3 times. Then the phone should be completely off.

If not, you can give the hard reset a shot, just beware that it will wipe your phone.

Most likely tough, you will have to visit a Nokia care point.

Good luck! :smileyhappy:

Yep tried to depress the power button, didn't seem to do much. I have no idea what the hard reset is for the E7

Re: E7 Start up failed.

Take a quick look at the solution here: /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/How-do-I-perform-3-4-fingers-HARD-RESET-on-Nokia-E7/m-p/1151491/highli...

Beware though that contacts, messages etc will be deleted upon a correctly and successfully performed reset.

If you don't have a back up and don't want to lose your content straight away, contact a care point and check if they can fix it without deleting anything. It's worth to ask about at least.

Re: E7 Start up failed.

Mine does the same occasionally, after Anna update. Nokia support thinks it's a memory chip malfunction.

Also it says SIM card registration failed. It works for most of the time.
