Do have settings Email->Account->Sync days: Every day, Sync time: All day, Sync: every 5mins

Widget on screen does not show new emails at all unless manually syncd.

Any info on this?

Which email client are you using? With Gmail, you need to login to gmail on the internet and go to setting and check the Enable IMAP.
I have an E7 and upgraded to Belle the other day and mine is working fine, here in the US. I did have to set it up as an Active Exchange (as opposed to using the gmail icon) though, so that it would also sync my calendar with my google calendar.

Email widget is now white, which is bad for battery in the AMOLED E7.

There are no more left-right arrows in message view to scroll through messages if you enter the mail client via the widget. No delete button, everything has to be done through a menu (if keyboard is not open). Deleting a mail message throws you back in list, not to the next message like in Anna and pre and back to Home screen if entered via the widget. Still no selection in message view.

This Belle is a shipwreck and I've only started.

My brief experience before my E7 broke (again) was pretty poor, Nokia have taken a working email application and broken it.
