E65 integrated radio headset

I quite like my E65, but the lack of radio annoys me. There are nokia headsets that have radio built into them. But non seem compatiable with the E65

Re: E65 integrated radio headset

Which headset were you looking at? I'm also trying to find something similar but no luck yet.

Also, do you know which pop port-3.5mm stereo adapters are compatible? Preferably one with mic & volume control.

I was looking at the Nokia Radio Headset HS-2R, it has a built in

Re: E65 integrated radio headset

Instead of getting an FM radio I used audio streams using the built in Real Player software and the 3 (my SP) 'unlimited' X series internet access. Better quality audio and more channels than FM. The only downside is that the real player links are not always obvious and sometimes need a PC to get hold of.

e.g. on bbc sites you need to get up their listen live features one at a time then find the 'play in standalone real player' link then type than manually in to the phone.

Once you've done this once however you can quite easily store the link for later access in the gallery's streaming audio folder (stop playback in real player then open the real player options menu to save the link).

So with the E65 not only do you get the usual radio stations you get those only available normally to DAB players or over the internet :smileyvery-happy: i.e. extra stations.

I use the same technique, but rather than copy the URLs, I simply accessed the radio player using the E65 web browser and saved the radio station from there.
Agreed, it does work great, but without 3's X series would probably be very expensive. I believe streaming audio uses a lot of data.

Re: E65 integrated radio headset

I'm using AD-41 pop-port-3.5mm adapter. It has mic, volume control and media controls (play/pause, next, prev, stop).

It comes with HS-20 headset, but I didn't find it usable. Have been using it with iPod headphones and Koss Porta Pro, and with proper headphones it's good.
