I changed my phone's security code about three months ago and shortly afterwards forgot it. But I didn't worry about it much because I could still use my phone without that code and I never locked my phone again.
But recently after I had updated my phone's firmware I was asked to enter security code. After firmware update the phone's security code is supposed to change to default, right? So I entered 12345 BUT it didn't work!! I tried again and again in vain. I couldn't even turn off my phone by pressing the red button becuase the phone was locked. So I just took off the battery and after five minutes I hard reseted my phone. Even after that I was asked for security code and STILL the default code didn't work. I can't restore factory settings from settings because lock code is needed for that
I tried to activate remote lock and even then the default code didn't work.
E63's phone specificataion says that it's stand by time is 17 days. Does that mean that if I take off the battery and keep my phone like that for that period, my phone will forget that anti- default code issue?

Software update will not reset the security code to the default code.
Also removing your battery for any period of time will not reset the security code.
The only way to have your security code reset, is by bringing it to a Nokia Care Point.
