Hi all,
My new E63 does not seem to have a very good battery life. With Bluetooth, and WLAN OFF the standby time is about 4 days when the specifications for it say 18 days.
Is what I'm seeing normal?
TIA
Greg

Hi Greg!
Kindly double check the other applications if they're all switched off. Standby time means your fone is in idle mode, no activities is done such as making a call or even texting.

I expect my e63 to be on standby for 18 days about as much as I expect my car to get 100 miles per gallon. Never gonna happen! 4 days is pretty darn good.
I consider myself a middle of the road user in terms of load on my phone, and I usually can get at least 3 days before I absolutely have to recharge, although I usually charge it more often than that. That's under normal use - MfE and personal email [gmail, yahoo] set to check every 15 minutes, occasional internet either via WLAN [search as needed, not always on] or my AT&T data plan, bluetooth always on, and a lot of texting.

16 million color screen and brightness level consumes most of the battery life as well as the programs that runs on the background. You may need to lower the brightness setting and close running unecessary programs. Initial charging time is also a factor; as much as possible turn off the device while charging (make sure that its full charge). If issue still persists, the battery could be failing or defective; note that E63 uses 1500mah battery which is pretty much of capacity.

Wow! 4days!!
E71 here. No data plan, but moderate Wi-fi, bluetooth always on, light texting and calls, light camera use.
End of 2nd day is clearly in the red, with a couple times out.
For your <essentially> non-use habits, 4days seems right on target...although I doubt I could get that with mine!!
Inquire with an iPhone owner...and rejoice with your E powerhouse!!

Hi,
I'm having problems with my E63. About a couple of days ago, I plugged it in to charge, however, it took forever for the "charging" message to come on. However when that message did come on, it turned off the backlight of the phone, and the phone would stop charging. About a while after, I plugged the charger in again and this time, the message didn't pop up and the battery just isn't charging. After contacting Nokia, they said the problem could be with the battery, the phone or the charger. However, I doubt it's the charger because my phone has been acting weird lately.
It would take forever for the menu screen to load after I turned it on and sometimes, the phone would just randomly revert to the factory settings(as in the background I had would dissappear and would be replaced by the one of the nokia background options.) I recently ordered a new battery just in case the battery is the issue. However, do you guys know what the problem could be or how to fix it?

Make sure bluetooth and other connections are turned off.
if problem still remains i suggest you to take it to where you've bought. Let them check, if something wrong with battery they'll replace it free of charge.

Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Home screen > Mode Settings > Home Screen Applications > Enabled applications
The following are ticked:
Application shortcuts
SIM services
Organiser
Radio
To-Dos
Music Player
Search
Missed Call Notif.
Message notification
Voice mail notif.
The rest are unticked
Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Display > Light Sensor
Set it to the lowest setting (less bright)
This works for me.
You should be able to get through 3 days with no issues.
Unless you have some other applications running in the background and chewing up battery, you should be successful here.
Good luck.

I have a problem too , my E63 was in service for a couple of days, they told me that they instaled a new Software on my E63 like 501.21.001 , after I recived my phone , my battery was very low, i recharget one time and it was preety bad ,like 7 Hours without talking , Now I brought my Phone back to Nokia and they replaced my battery with a new one, I guess , the problem is not realy the same but its like 14 hours with no talking , 14 hours in standby.
Is it because the new Software ? Before this new Sofware I had a battery life of 2 Days , and now I have a new battery, and I am at the third cicle of recharging , Pls help
