E61i gmail port resets

Hi I have a E61i and have tried configuring gmail on my mobile based on the setting given on this link https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78887 once done when I try to connect I get an error message "Internet Server not found". When I checked the setting I found that the ports are getting reset to default and no matter how many times I change them it will revert to default. Has anyone seen this issue??
