Hello Forum,
I got this phone as new and wanted to setup the connection with which the browser connects to the internet (WLAN only, known networks). Now it keeps connecting but it fails at some point. Then there is the PIN option and one is asked to enter it into the network or press the "easy setup button" This I don't get. There no such button on a normal router and one also cannot enter any PIN into it. One can only assign a fixed IP to a specific device based on MAC filtering.
But what's that easy setup about?? One usually just enters the pre-shared key and password...

Hello,
My old Thomson Speedtouch router has a button that could possibly be considered to be an easy set up button. It is right in the middle of the front face of the router and although I've never used it, I understand that pressing it temporarily overrides the encryption and allows devices to form connections with the router without having to enter WEP/WPA keys.
May I ask if you are trying to connect to wlan/wifi through connectivity in the settings menu. I have a wifi connection running perfectly on my E6 but I don't recall it ever having asked me to enter a PIN or press an easy set up button. Like you say when fist attempting to connect I had to enter the PSK at that was it, up and running.

Hello,
I can connect through the connectivity menu. But when I open the browser it would not open any webpage returning a connection error. I then go to the setup options of the browser to tell it it should use the pre-defined network / access point. It's here when there is no option to enter credentials. It goes straight to the "easy setup" as it tells me that the network would support this.
As you say, this "easy setup" is not a good option anyway and there should be another way as one cannot be expected to have such an option.
My router is one of those DLink DIR 615 customised for VirginMedia.
